Jordan Sutherby is both a teacher and a coach. She is in her third year teaching Special Education, second year in the Northville Public School system at Cooke. Jordan is entering her second season coaching with Team Detroit. She has been a jack of all trades in her playing career, competing as an outside hitter, setter, and defensive specialist. Competing in middle school and high school in Trenton as a libero, recreational at Grand Valley State University while completing her degree, then as a competitive adult player, she has kept the game an active part of her life. Jordan's club experience ranged from small to large club, local and travel, always working to find available competitive opportunities and having a life balance.
Jordan finds one of the most challenging parts of coaching volleyball also the most fun, breaking down the skills and experiences to a comprehensive level depending on the team needs. She finds it gratifying when players reach that "Aha!" moment when it translates to success in the game. You will find coach Jordan building a love of the game through her kindness and understanding on our court at Team Detroit. She is excited to return to the Team Detroit coaching staff this season!
